Food, almost as good as Chinatown NY or SF. Pad Thai fell short of our expectations. Hot & sour soup was great. Orange beef excellent ! To go containers let food dry out overnight.

Have been coming to George and Son's for years. Sometimes for takeout (it's a 40min round trip drive for me) and sometimes to dine in. The food is consistently good, piping hot and packaged well when using takeout. The service is friendly and the lychee cocktail is delicious! I'm happy to see that they are busier in the restaurant on the days I come to get take out.

Came for lunch on a Tuesday, place almost dead at lunch. Several carry out orders during vist. Overall good. Only soup of day available, no choices and only steamed rice. Noddles and rice on dish a nice touch. Served hot and fresh. Just hard to enjoy outing with no other dinner's! Friendly staff. Strip center parking. Very nice dinning room!

Just had some noodles here for the first time and I'm impressed. My husband and I love potstickers and fried rice. I would say the staff is super nice and the fried rice is good

Hello Everyone: This review is for George & Son's Asian Cuisine on Via Linda in Scottsdale. Note: This was my first visit to this location, so I decided to try it for lunch. There is a one-page menu for lunch with a variety of options. Lunch includes: soup of the day, the menu item you select, white rice, one crab puff and an egg roll. I will review each component below: 1. Soup of the Day - was an egg drop soup. It was served (temperature) hot and the amount of ingredients was satisfactory. My only complaint was it lacked depth of flavor. The soup was very flat in taste (tasted like nothing, just hot broth). 2. Crab Puff - was nice and crispy and the crab/cream cheese inside the puff was warm. Sometimes when these are served in restaurants the inside of the puff is barely warm or cool, but this one was as it should have been. My desire would have been to have mustard sauce or chili sauce included when it was served for dipping. 3. Egg Roll - had a nice crunch. Not too greasy. The amount of filling inside was appropriate, and again, the filling was warm. Again, my desire would have been to have mustard sauce or chili sauce included when it was served for dipping. 4. White Rice - I found the texture of the rice unusual. It was as if the grain of rice was in half (not a full long grain of rice), but the scoop portion was acceptable. The rice would have benefited from a little salt added to the water when cooking. I tried the rice alone (nothing else) and it had no flavor. Note: I did not see brown rice on the menu as an option to swap out even for an extra cost. 5. Chicken and Vegetables - The amount served was satisfactory for lunch. The chicken was cut into thin strips which I prefer over "cubbed" chicken in dishes. There was a lot of broccoli on the serving I received, a few onions, three snap peas, a few pieces of zucchini, four pieces of carrot and two mushrooms. (No water chestnuts and no bamboo shoots for those of you who look forward to them.) The broccoli was cooked correctly - not mushy and not too hard when served. Many times when broccoli is in stir fry dishes, it can be served too crunchy, but this was done nicely. As with the soup, the sauce within this dish also lacked depth of flavor. I felt it would have benefited from some finely chopped garlic or a little garlic oil when the dish was being stir fried/made in the kitchen. The table I was seated at did not have salt and pepper available, therefore, I could not add seasonings and I prefer not to put soy sauce on my main meal as a way to create flavor. 6. There was a side of noodles on my plate when my dish was served. This was not expected, but perhaps a nice surprise. Since so much broccoli came with my chicken meal, I got the noodles and half the broccoli in a "to go" container for lunch the next day. Therefore, if you are a small to medium food consumer, this meal could suffice for lunch the next day as well (for the price). 7. Service: I was greeted and seated promptly when entering. Water and a small jar of soy sauce was brought to me shortly after I was seated. The booth, seats and table top were clean. The water glass served to me was clean (no spots on the glass). Service was friendly and prompt. I did not have to wait long for my check which I appreciated, since this visit was over my lunch break. Overall: I would return to this location because I felt the portion of food, items included, service and price were all appropriate for lunch. I would like to recommend to the restaurant that perhaps the Chef make him/herself some of the dishes on the lunch menu with white sauces and see how they feel about the depth or lacking depth of flavor. Having been a Chef for years, I know it is hard to please everyone (since you don't know who is going to walk in the front door), and we are all aware of MSG and added salt in our diets, but I feel most of the people who go to a Chinese-influenced restaurant are looking forward to some depth and/or layers of flavor. There are many spices, especially for Asian-inspired dishes which can add depth of flavor without soy sauce, salt or MSG. Thank you for an enjoyable first experience. With Respect, Lynn
